Domestic bourses opened higher tracking positive trend in Asian stocks and extended gains as the session progressed amid high volatility. Trading was volatile on account of negative global cues and derivatives expiry later this week. The Nifty gained 35 points and settled at 10617.90.
Private Banks were the major gainers and IT sector were the major losers.

Australia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday. Gains in the Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors lead shares higher. At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.66%.
