Benchmark indices pared all the intraday gains after hitting new life time high to end lower in choppy trade session before Dec F&O expiry due tomorrow. News that the government may announce additional borrowing after the GST collection for Nov month decreased caused panic selling in markets. Nifty ended at 10500.20. Pharma stocks were the major gainers of the day while Banking shares were the losers of the day.

Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA.LN) said Wednesday that it expects a charge to its fourth-quarter earnings of $2 billion to $2.5 billion following the changes to U.S. tax reform, driven by a re-measurement of its deferred tax position to reflect the lower corporate income tax rate. European stocks opened higher in their first post-Christmas trading session Wednesday, with Wall Street futures also firm.
